The first major thing we want to do in the house before moving in is paint. (We also did a little furniture shopping, but more on that later). I prefer mostly neutral paint colors, but I was also really drawn to some of the highly saturated paint chips.
I ended up ordering little paint samples from Home Depot. They're 8 oz containers of whatever color you'd like for about $3 each. After applying them, I realized that I didn't like a single one. I did a little more research and revamped my efforts.
I made a trip to Lowe's with my new ideas in mind and bought 2 gallons to do the entire downstairs plus more samples for the rest of the house. I loved all the new samples except one, so we're just down to the bathroom.
